Why you should Know Your Body Mass Index (BMI)

Your body mass index is a numerical measurement which analyses a person’s height and weight to give a statistical estimate of your body fat percentage. Although it does not give you a reading of body fat in terms of a percentage, instead it ranges your results along a scale which can be used to determine if you are, underweight, healthy weight, overweight or obese. The Body mass index has become the most widely used tool in identifying weight problems usually with individuals who are underweight or overweight.
